Nee-san's Idea by TheReapersApprentice Nee-san's Idea by TheReapersApprentice
I really REALLY wanted to make a photomanipulation one day (as well as all other days ^^;) but I didn't want to use a horse, since that's what I use most of the time. So I turned and asked my "nee-san" (big sister) what animal I should use...and I forbade platypus cuz I just knew she would suggest that one v.v but then, after sulking about the platypus, she told me to use a cat. I thought it was a good idea. Then I asked what I should add to the cat to make it seem more fantasy...y o-o...anyways she said antlers. And I went from there xD (oh and you can pretty much ignore the tail o-o I ...kinda sucked at that ^^;). I actually wasn't originally gonna post it...but I felt that I should for my nee-san, :iconshieera-a: x3

Oh! I am so honored Imouto-chan! :iconkittyfaceplz: It is awesome! I like the way you blended the wings into the cat! I think you do really well with insect wings. Also, the placement of the antlers is really nice! (It must be so much easier to add two things on a cat's head than a horse's! XD) The necklace is really cool and I LOVE the eyes! (They look kind of like they're glowing!)

Though I see what the awesome critiquer (intentionally used the wrong term) said about the lighting. Also, the entire backside of the cat seems out of place...I don't know anything about photoshop, but maybe next time consider the position that the cat is going to be in and use a picture that has its tail in a position that works for the setting? Just trying to help, since you yourself complained about it. (To be honest, I might not have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out. o-o I don't have a very good eye for these kinds of things. I'm better with writing. ^^;)

Awww why thank you! (yes indeed! Cat's foreheads are much easier to work with x.x contrary to popular belief...horse's foreheads are SMALL! at least for them xD) And I'm glad you like the necklace x3 I thought it reminded me of yours =3 (and I'm glad you like the eyes, too. I wasn't too fond of them but as long as you like them, I'm good! =D)

Lolz it's the tail xD and yeah I did notice it sucked x.x I eventually gave up xD and I have certainly learned my lesson :salute: use a cat WITH a tail  (well that's good then....=( those poor hummingbirds)

You're weclome! ^w^ Huh, you're right, it does kind of look like my necklace. XD Ooh ooh! Do you think you could to a request~!

Oh! I see, it didn't HAVE a tail! XD That explains it! The position just looked off for sitting on a log is all... XD

Hummingbirds? Eh? (Has said "eh" in honor of Canada. v.v)

Yeah I wanted it to :giggle:
Of COURSE I'll do a request for nee-san! :iconilavplz: And since your my nee-san, I'll only say no to literature 83 since you're way better than me ^^; (as well as drawing, but I'm wanting to get back into drawing again)

Yeah ^^; I had to use a tail stock for that. But yeah...I've learned my lesson v.v I just REALLY liked the cat stock =( it was a havana brown! I LOVE havana browns!!!

Well I saw the silhouettes (I ACTUALLY SPELLED IT RIGHT THAT TIME! :happybounce:) of hummingbirds on the computer than you are now sitting on  (and yes v.v Canada needs to say "eh")

Oh! I see! ^w^ About...everything. O.o

But anyway, teh request I want is actually a photoshop request. >.> Do you think you could make Shieera (or all three of the psychics if you wanna) as some sort of fantasy creature? Anything will do, but I just think that would be awesome! :iconiloveitplz:

Orlly? O.o I thought that you didn't like that...but sure I think that'd be pretty fun =3

So like...what kind of fantasy creatures? I mean horses are obviously my specialty xD but anything would do (except for dragon ^^;) unless you wanted me to try something like an elf or mermaid! o0o I've never worked with human models...but yeah xD basically I'd need to know at least generally what you'd like. And I'll definitely want to do the other two if I do Shieera xP

Well, I really don't care, though since you've already done everyone as a horse that might not work. >.> If you want to try a human model and do something like that, that would be cool, but you don't have to. Really, all I have in mind is you making something new up entirely! Something that you could have fun with that you think suits Shieera. :)

I like the innovative style of this, very cute, not widely seen in the photomanipping community. The main things sticking out to me(no pun intended) is the lighting of the log is different from the lighting on the cat, which is different than the background. Perhaps toning it down by burning and dodging somethings (it's something you'll have to play with and adjust) maybe also look at levels and curves. Colorizing to match the color temp of the background might help as well, which can be done a multitude of ways. With any adjustments, always make a copy of the original layer that way you can always go back if you mess up (because that darn undo button doesn't always go as far back as you need it to) then make your adjustments there, if it looks unnatural then you can always go and blend the copy-alter layer back into your original layer to make it feel like it still retained the original quality of the cat or the log, but now it should blending and look better overall. Sometimes you won't need to blend it back at all and it looks beautiful once those slight adjustments are made. :) Hopefully that helps a little bit, lemme know if you need me to clarify anything, I might be able to find some tutorials for you too that show what I'm talking about.

Okay I think I get what you're saying. So, on the log, should I dodge the front of the log and burn near the back where the cat is sitting? I totally know what you're talking about when you say the background doesn't match well ^^;
And that is a great idea! =P The whole saving a copy.

Thanks again for your advice xD and compliment! I like to do unique things :giggle:
